Jeffco Blazers vs. Meramac Valley

This evening I was again on the diamond. Tonight I saw the 15 year old division again. Blazers and Rawlings at Seckman HS. Was a lopsided game with the Blazers winning a mercy run shortened 10-0 game. This game had some good hitting some really good gems in the field. Well played defensively and offensively for the Blazers. Thats not to say there weren’t problems but they were over shadowed by the play and final results.

Festus vs. Crestwood

Tonight featured the Festus Junior American Legion team against the Crestwood Junior team. What a good night of baseball. Close game with some controversy late made for an entertaining game. Festus held on to win 5-4. Congrats to the team for a well played game. Nice weather and I was well entertained.

On another note I’ve not shot at West City Park before tonight. What a great field and fairly well lit for HS level field. Hats off to Festus City Parks dept for having such a nice field.

And on Tuesday evening you will find me at Fox High School covering the younger Blazer team. On Friday I could possibly be at Wolf Softball Haven to cover some organized softball. On Saturday I’ll be at the De Soto Fourth of July celebration. Hope to see you here this week.

De Soto vs. House Springs Legion Ball

A hot Friday afternoon saw the De Soto Legion team taking the trip to Northwest High School to face the House Springs Legion team. They finished off a game from earlier in the week to start off the afternoon with De Soto taking the win in extra innings. The second game was wild and pretty fast paced considering the temps. House Springs prevailed 14-4 in a mercy run shortened 7 inning affair.

Blazers vs. Barnstormers

As the rivalry of two of the S.L.A.B.A. teams of Jefferson county took the field tonight, at times the tempers were as warm as the temps. At just over 100F on the field at game time I was suffering most of the game. Bright sunshine without a cloud in the sky for a break. The Blazers jumped on the Barnstormers early and often to come away with an 11-1 victory tonight with the game held at Jefferson College.

Back to work

After a much needed vacation to spend some time with my family, I’m happy to say I am back to work. This week will see me back shooting live action and one of my favorite sports. I’ll be at the Barnstormers and Blazers SLABA game on Tuesday at Jefferson College. On Friday I’ll be in the House Springs area for some Legion Baseball with De Soto visiting House Springs at Northwest High school. Hopefully the weather will cooperate to get in a couple of games this week. Hope to see you there.

Vacation

So many have asked me what does a photographer do while on vacation with his family. Quite simply I did what I love to do. Spend time with my family along with plenty of time behind the viewfinder. I was fortunate enough to hook up with a photographer friend of mine from Hickory NC and attend a Hickory Crawdads baseball game. They are the Low A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. I was also fortunate enough to visit Huntington Beach State Park in South Carolina. Some of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever been able to do while on vacation. If you are ever in the area it is a must do. The images below are a few from my trip. Thanks for your patience while I was gone and hopefully getting back on top of things won’t take me long.

MSHSAA State Track and Field.

This past weekend I was fortunate enough to cover the class 3A and 4A State Track and Field events in Jefferson City. I was witness to what has to be one of the most impressive individual performances in long distance running I have ever witnessed. With the pressure of carrying her team on her back alone without teammate Brittany Borman this year, Alyssa Allison was instrumental in scoring 40 points in helping the Festus Tigers to a 3rd place finish in Class 3A. If your Athlete took part in the games and is in the Leader coverage area, chances are good I have photos of him or her and they may run in this weeks paper. Congratulations to the Tigers and the other individuals who placed in their events and also to those who were able to qualify for the event. I will be on Vacation before the summer events start up. See you at the games over the summer. And for those contacting me for Senior Portraits we will begin our sessions when I return the week of June 15th.

Prom 2009

De Soto Prom was held on May 9, 2009 and Tyler and his lovely date were my couple to photograph tonight. We spent an hour or so in the park before they headed off to dinner and dance.
