Tonight I spent the night at the De Soto Wrestling tournament. I participated in this event many years ago when it was the De Soto Invitational. Sure brought back some memories, but its grown from 8 teams back then to 16 teams and spans two days now.  Windsor’s Brandon Campbell turns his Webster Groves opponent on his head. Tonight was the first time this year I covered High school girls basketball. Seckman vs. Webster Groves. Was a tough night for Seckman as they struggled most of the night. They were able to get within 4 at the end. But were unable to retake the lead after giving it up in the third quarter. This photo ran in the paper with the story. Tonight I ventured into the Jefferson College gym. I covered the local JUCO womens basketball team. The Jeffco Vikings are in the top 10 in Division one. Tonight they took on Mineral Area college. I used my strobes at this venue for the first time. A learning experience for sure, but I like the colors and the ability to shoot at lower ISO.  Jeffco won the game easily. They have the nations leading scorer in Danielle Adams who is averaging over 27 per game. Click the photo to see more from the game.

Tonight I headed back out to the wrestling scene. Had a very quick assignment, this dual meet was over in less then an hour. The Windsor Owls took over the mat and lost very few matches. Click the photo to see more of the match.

Tonights assignment was covering two local boys basketball teams. Herculaneum Blackcats and Crystal City Hornets. Was sort of a slow game for both teams. Crystal pulled out the win going away.

Tonight January 3rd my assignment was to cover high school wrestling. De Soto vs. Hillsboro was a great dual down to the final match. De Soto edged out Hillsboro.
