Basketball Starts

Well I had the privelage to cover the #1 ranked team in the nation in Div 1, NJCAA womens basketball. The lady vikings are an amazing team and have a real shot at the national title. Something they finished 6th in last year and look to improve. They have soundly beat every team they have played this year. I look forward to covering them more this year. I would like to say that I find the local interest in the team a real disappointment. I’m not sure the community knows what a gem and real oppurtunity we have to see not only history made, but the great talent that plays on the court here in our own back yard. Attendance at the games I attend each year are so small you would think the team stinks, but these girls are fun to watch. Coach Emrick does a wonderful job with the team and is currently 68-8 in his first 3+ seasons at Jeffco. Come on out and watch the lady Vikings if you have a chance. You wont go away disappointed. Another season ends.

Unfortunately for the Lady Vikings, this season ends the same way the past 10 years have for them. With a loss to West Plains MO, in the region 16. They had a fantastic season, and likely their best hope at making the national tournament in a long time. Sorry to see it end this way. Was an off night for many of their star players. And a sad way to end some of their careers at Jefferson College.

De Soto makes the playoffs

Was asked to cover the first Playoff game ever by my old Alma Mater. De Soto football had never made the playoffs. I think after this game this wish they had waited a year. They still had a great season, ending at 8-3. But was handed a 48-6 loss to end the season.

I shot a wedding this past weekend. Not something I do alot of. I enjoy them but they are alot of work. Enjoyed working with my fellow Photographer Drew. Worked early morning to late night. Covered the wedding from beginning of the day to end. And was very happy to see everyone smile when they saw the photos. Congrats Sandy and Lee
