Well I had the privelage to cover the #1 ranked team in the nation in Div 1, NJCAA womens basketball. The lady vikings are an amazing team and have a real shot at the national title. Something they finished 6th in last year and look to improve. They have soundly beat every team they have played this year. I look forward to covering them more this year.  I would like to say that I find the local interest in the team a real disappointment. I’m not sure the community knows what a gem and real oppurtunity we have to see not only history made, but the great talent that plays on the court here in our own back yard. Attendance at the games I attend each year are so small you would think the team stinks, but these girls are fun to watch. Coach Emrick does a wonderful job with the team and is currently 68-8 in his first 3+ seasons at Jeffco. Come on out and watch the lady Vikings if you have a chance. You wont go away disappointed.
