Well I have really neglected my website. I’ve been really busy and dealing with the death of Warren Hayes, Sports Editor at the Leader newspaper.

And it seems I will be staying with the Leader after all. Starting my 5th year behind the camera for them. Look for me out on the fields and my photos in your mailbox every Thursday.

The De Soto boys basketball team continued their winning ways with an impressive 35 point win over the BlackCats of Fredericktown on Friday night, while resting many of their starters for much of the game. To view more photos and purchase prints click the photo below to be taken to the gallery.

Friday night the place to be was the Hillsboro High school Gymnasium. Probably one of the best matchups of the early part of the year was the Festus Tigers and the De Soto Dragons in what could only be described as District playoff atmosphere and we are only in the second week of the season. De Soto was able to get past Festus by two points in the end. Great game. For more photos and to purchase prints click on the photo to be taken to the gallery.

Once in a while I take off from my sports theme, and I actually play photographer. This weekend I spent an hour in the park, photographing Ms. G for her Mom. She was such a joy to photograph and reminded me why I love being a photographer and capture moments in time that a family will always cherish.

Tonight I attended the Seckman vs. Northwest hockey game. Seckman had a pretty impressive attacke and out shot Northwest by over 50 shots. Final score was 12-1.

Round one of the High school Football playoffs in Class 6 saw the Fox Warriors visiting the Lindbergh Flyers. Lindbergh 10-0 and Fox at 8-2 should have provided a good game. And indeed I wasn’t disappointed. In a wild back and forth game that would go to overtime, Fox won on a field goal to win 31-28 and advance to the next round to Face Oakville.

Tonight was first round of the High School Playoffs, Festus as District Champs hosted Poplar Bluff, in a wild game decided by a blocked field goal that was recovered in the end zone gave the win to Poplar Bluff and ended the Season of the Festus Tigers.

On Monday evening I was invited to take photos of the Festus Tigers Varsity Soccer team in round 1 of Districts against Hillsboro. Congrats to the kids on the season which unfortunately came to an end with the loss.

Tonight Festus hosted the Windsor Owls with a wild second half, Windsor came back to make it a close game, but Festus was just a bit too far ahead.
